As the introduction music to Sunday Brunch began to play, some eagle-eyed viewers had either the subtitles or Teletext on, which enabled them to see the lyrics to the theme song pop up onto their screens. However, things took an unexpected turn when the subtitles seemed to change some of the lyrics to the song.

The introduction to the song was meant to be: “The sun comes up. I fill my cup.

“I’m waking up to Sunday Brunch.”

However, for some reason, the subtitles misunderstood the word “cup” and changed it to “c**k” instead.

“The sun comes up,” the subtitles read. “I feel my c***. I’m waking up to Sunday Brunch.”

The awful mishap didn’t go unnoticed by some viewers, and some took to social media to share a screenshot of the unfortunate blunder.

Luckily, Channel 4 fans seemed to see the funny side of the slip-up.

One joked: “The subtitles to the theme tune mix first thing!

“On a Sunday morning! Even I was shocked! Someone havin a laugh? Fill —> feel and cup —> c..k.” (sic)

Another penned: “When Teletext goes wrong in an amusing way. This morning @SundayBrunchC4
fell victim! #TeletextFail #SundayBrunch.”

A third added: “Feeling your cup! I think it is meant to be ‘fill’.”

“I didn’t know he had a farm,” a fourth joked, while another viewer shared a number of laughing-face emojis.”
