Coronation Street couple Sally Carman and Joe Duttine pose for rare loved-up festive snap

In the countdown to Christmas, Coronation Street stars Sally Carman and Joe Duttine have shared an adorably festive photo.

The co-stars, who are married in real life, posed besides their Christmas tree as they finished decorating their home.

The couple looked incredibly loved up in a rare photograph of them with Sally’s arm wrapped around her husband as he pulled a silly face.

Sally, who plays Abi Franklin on the ITV soap, wore a baby pink sweatshirt with the words "You're handsome" emblazoned on the front.

Meanwhile Joe, who portrays Tim Metcalfe on screen, wore a navy jumper which said “You’re pretty”.

The his and hers outfits are thought to reference the classic Christmas track Fairytale of New York by The Pogues.

Having married earlier this year, it appears the couple are still very much in the honeymoon phase.

The couple have also taken time to support mental health charity Give Us A Shout over the holidays.

The charity provides free support to those experiencing mental health problems, via text.

Sally explained this in the caption, writing: "As we all know, I love a Christmas jumper and I love a small business. I especially love a small business that supports a good cause which is why I’m giving Shop Christmas Jumpers a massive shout out this Christmas."

She added: “Every jumper sold, a percentage will go straight to Give Us A Shout – a mental health charity offering text message support."

The actress also shared a series of snaps of herself in equally festive jumpers, telling fans that they could purchase the sweatshirts from Manchester Christmas Market or online.

Unlike the other jumpers, the deep red sweatshirt bore less romantic slogans such as “Merry Christmas” and “I’m So Merry”.

Fans were delighted with the post and one mental health nurse even thanked the soap stars for their support.

She wrote: “I’m so behind this company and also you for a shout for them…”

The former nurse added that she’d recently retired after 38 years, so the post was particularly touching.

Another user also added: “A lovely couple doing a lovely thing, take care the pair of you…”

Sally and Joe had a similar reaction when they shared a photograph of their wedding, which saw the happy couple wearing matching pastel blue outfits.

Many of their cast members congratulated the newlyweds, whose nuptuals had been delayed by the pandemic.

Current Strictly Come Dancing contestant and Corrie star Kym Marsh, was among the first writing: “Huge congrats you two.”

In addition to getting hitched, the couple have also celebrated Sally’s recent win at the Royal Television Society awards.

The actress came away with two awards – one for Best Performance in a Continuing Drama and another for Best Continuing Drama Storyline.
