Corrie star reveals nerves as Jade's true identity is exposed

A bit of a sinister enigma, Jade Rowan (Lottie Henshall) has made herself comfortable in the home of Fiz Stape (Jennie McAlpine) and Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) and Coronation Street fans are very much on their guard as we have seen her frame young Hope for starting a fire in the back yard.

It’s clear that she has ulterior motives for becoming Hope’s tutor and nanny and tonight, viewers will be put out of their misery when a major secret is revealed. And newcomer Lottie, who has known from the outset who her character actually is, has admitted to feeling some apprehension ahead of the big scenes airing.

In an exclusive interview with, she told us: ‘It has been the best sort of part to play – the only thing I can say is that it’s killing me with excitement because it’s been such a long time for this big reveal; I have known about it since June. We’ve been waiting for so long so there’s that apprehension so while it’s really exciting, it’s quite nerve wracking as well to see what everyone will say about it.

‘It’s fun having that sort of power – every time I go on Twitter and see what people’s theories are. People are so convinced that I am having an affair with Tyrone – it does put a smile on my face.’

And the theories are pretty eide ranging from being e vengeful face from the past to being a bunny boiler stalker keen to get her claws into Tyrone. Or even Fiz.

Lottie smiled: ‘People are so sure about what it is – everyone has a theory. It’s nice to have that power to know what’s going on and no-one else is quite sure! I’ve actually had a lot of people coming up to me in person, asking if I’m going to have an affair with Fiz! Is this the weirdo stalking Fiz kind of thing? I’ve had it all!’

While we are preserving the big reveal for tonight, Lottie confirmed that the storyline has a ways to go – and she is enjoying every part of the experience since joining Corrie.

She enthused: ‘I will always remember my first day meeting everyone and just knowing their character names. I had to make the extra effort to call everyone by their actual names because I have known them for such a long time as Fiz, Tyrone and various other characters.

‘I don’t know if this is a bit lame, but I make sure that every time that I’m in, I take it all in. Every day I walk down the cobbles, I properly look at it and absorb it – with these shows you never know when it’s going to end, especially when you’re playing a baddie! It’s a good overwhelming. Everyone is so humble and welcoming – they make you feel so at home. It’s more just, what an amazing achievement and it’s something so special to be a part of.’

Coronation Street airs the big reveal on Wednesday 27 November at 7:30pm and 8:30pm on ITV.
