The Football Focus host joined Alex and Gethin via video link on The One Show today as the trio discussed the impact the coronavirus pandemic has had on live sport. However, Dan soon found himself taken off air during the conversation as a technical blunder left Alex and Gethin struggling to hear their BBC colleague.
The One Show hosts turned the conversation towards the cancelled Tokyo Olympics and the fact both Dan and Alex were supposed to be in attendance.
However, Gethin was keen to hear from Dan about what sports fans can expect in the absence of the major sporting tournament.
Dan began by taking a cheeky swipe at his colleague by stating it was “illegal” to have any programme on the BBC without Alex involved as the pair are billed to front a handful of shows about classic Olympics of the past.
As the trio laughed at Dan’s joke, the BBC Breakfast host began to reel off what sporting action was still to come for viewers.

However, as he did so, Dan’s video connection appeared to stall, leading Gethin to joke: “He hasn’t been paying his internet bill.”
Dan was then momentarily taken off as Gethin and Alex began to talk amongst themselves.
