Death in Paradise kicks off series 12 and Christmas special with first look pic of Ralf Little

DEATH in Paradise WILL return for a twelfth series AND there will be a Christmas special.

The latest season of the popular BBC One show wrapped up in February 2022.

Over the past few months fans of the British–French crime drama have been wondering when it'll be back on our screens.

Now it has been confirmed that they don't have long to wait.

Death in Paradise will return later this year.

Fans will also be treated to a festive episode during the Christmas period.

The likes of Ralf Little, Don Warrington, Élizabeth Bourgine, Tahj Miles, Shantol Jackson and Ginny Holder will be involved.

Executive Producer Tim Key said: “We had been wanting to do a Death in Paradise Christmas special for years and so to be starting production on our second one this year is brilliant.

"We’ve got a fantastic story which comes loaded with all the mystery, intrigue and surprise that our fans love to see.”

In season 11, Neville and the team looked into a number of bizarre murders and mysteries across the island.

A skydiver was believed to have been stabbed mid-air, a rehab patient was murdered at a clinic and a woman was found strangled after reporting a murder.

It also saw returning character DS Florence Cassell depart the series for a second time – while also convincing a lovestruck Neville that they were better off as friends.

The series will end on February 25, 2022, after the penultimate episode involved a reggae artist being shot dead.

Last year, 2021’s first-ever festive special gained an audience of over 8.8 million, making it the third most watched show of the festive period (based on all-screens 30+ days figures).
