Corey Brent (Maximus Evans) is currently on trial for his role in the murder of Seb Franklin (Harry Visinoni) in Coronation Street.
The teen violently killed Seb back in May, when he and mates Eli and Jay set upon Seb and girlfriend Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) in a brutal hate crime attack.
Seb was knocked to the floor, as was Nina.
Nina made a run for it, and found herself on the receiving end of a beating from Jay and Eli, while Corey stayed behind and repeatedly kicked Seb.
Kelly Neelan (Millie Gibson), who was also present on the night of the assault, pleading with Corey to stop, and even attempted to pull him away from Seb, but Corey was hellbent on violence.
Nina was initially unable to remember what transpired on that horrific evening, but last week saw her memories restored ahead of the trial, allowing her enough time to make a new statement.
Corey was cross-examined by Imran Habeeb (Charlie De Melo) last week, professing his innocence, all the while pointing the finger at Kelly.
The tense proceedings reach a conclusion in upcoming scenes, as the jury makes a decision.
But the question we all want to know is: is Corey found guilty?
Is Corey found guilty in Coronation Street and does he go to prison?
The outcome of the trial is being kept under wraps, meaning that it’s currently unknown if Corey is found guilty, or if he will pay for his crimes.
This week will see Kelly cross-examined by both Sabeen (Zora Bishop) and Imran, before they both deliver their closing arguments for the jury.
The jury then reach a verdict in the first of Friday’s (September 10) two editions of the ITV soap.
But will justice be served?
Will Corey pay for his sins with a lengthy prison sentence?
It’s a tough question to answer, given that it is thought that his dad Stefan (Paul Opacic) has paid off witnesses to lie on the stand. Kelly first made this accusation when Eli lied amid the proceedings.
Abi Franklin (Sally Carman) was horrified, and soon she also came to suspect that Stefan was, in fact, manipulating the situation to his advantage.
Corey, meanwhile, delivered a sickeningly convincing performance for the jury last Friday, when he burst into tears while being cross-examined by Imran.
‘It wasn’t me!’, he said through his fake tears. ‘I swear!’.
Fans of the ITV soap were not too pleased with this development. ‘Wipe away your crocodile tears stupid boy,’ said one disgruntled viewer.
‘I hope that doesn’t fool the jury,’ added another.
‘I hope the court can see through his fake act,’ exclaimed a worried social media user.
If, like the rest of the nation, you’re desperate to find out if Corey is found guilty, you’ll just have to tune in on Friday evening to find out!
Coronation Street continues Monday September 6 at 7:30pm on ITV.
