EASTENDERS fans have begged bosses to give Jay Brown a "proper storyline" after being "sidelined" for months.
The businessman – played by Jamie Borthwick on the BBC soap – was last involved with a major story back in December when he was stitched up by scheming Janine Butcher and arrested over the car lot scam.
Viewers have pointed out that the character appears to be "missing" from the soap these days.
Fans have urged show bosses to give him some "quality" storylines.
One wrote: "Jay needs a storyline and needs to be in more scenes, I'm hoping we'll see more of these characters during the summer."
Another posted: "Me waiting for #EastEnders to give Jay Brown a quality storyline similar to the other characters."
A third echoed: "You have this young man who could be involved in so many things, hanging out with his guy friends, sharing scenes with Honey (even though I'm not keen, we should still see them). Yet, he only shows up for one of Ben's angst moments about committing a crime. #EastEnders"

"I agree. Out of all the characters, Jay has been the most underused. They could have worked with his community pay-back, even having him interact with a new character. It's just frustrating to see characters be sidelined repeatedly. #EastEnders," a fourth explained.
Another annoyed fan tweeted: "Jay hasn't had any decent screen time since the car lot scam with Billy and Janine."
One fan was so aggrieved by the Jay's lack of screen time, they created a montage clip of the character's best bits and wrote: The lack of screen time and storylines he has is actually criminal. #EastEnders"
Jay got involved in a dodgy scam with superbitch Janine shortly after she returned last year.

But the car theft scamming secret came to an ugly head when Jay found out what she had been up to.
Janine decided to frame Jay and planted some stolen jewellery in his coat pocket.
He was then arrested on suspicion of masterminding the stolen car heists and given community service.
Some fans are keen to see Jay get revenge on Janine, with one writing: "I would love to see Jay get his own back on Janine for her part in the car scam. Billy and Jay need to team up."
