Eastenders fans convinced Callum’s boss Les Coker dies as cast are spotted filming a funeral

EASTENDERS fans are convinced Callum Halfway's boss Les Coker is about to be killed off.

The soap set tongues wagging when the cast were spotted filming a funeral recently – and now viewers think undertaker Les was in the coffin.

It's already been confirmed bosses won't be burying a major character.

One fan tweeted: "It's got to be Les Croker surely?  It would make sense why Pam would return to the square to break the news and for both Ben & Jay to be there."

Another chimed: "Bert or Les seems likely. Comedy would not out of place at either of their funerals. More likely Les as meetings would be needed to make sure Pam is seen."

A third wrote: "Les makes most sense. Bring Pam back permanently."

Actress Lin Blakley – who played Les's wife Pam in the soap – revealed she'd be making a brief return to Walford earlier this month.

Keeping her storyline under wraps, she told the Express: "I love going back. I'm going back soon.

"Just for a couple of episodes and I love it. I love popping back.

"I'm so happy and pleased that I'm able to do that. I haven't been back for a year but I'm going back for a couple of episodes, so that is wonderful."

Recent funeral pictures showed undertaker manager Jay – played by Jamie Borthwick – next to a hearse as he tried to fix a faulty tyre.

He was joined by Ben Mitchell, as well as Billy Mitchell and on-off love interest Lola Pearce as they tried to sort the wheel.

But Jay broke down in more ways than one as he was consoled by Lola as he looked at the coffin in despair.

"But, as with any death on EastEnders, it will be a big moment for the fans."

The action just keeps on coming on the BBC One soap with a huge week ahead thanks to Callum and Whitney's wedding, as well as Hunter and Mel Owen's attempted escape from Walford.

Viewers are currently convinced Mel – Tamzin Outhwaite – is going to die after she brandished a gun earlier this week.

Mel was clearly distressed after getting confronted about Hunter's escape from prison by Sharon, Billy and Ben.

But, unbeknown to them, Mel is hiding Hunter following his jail break, and as she managed to sneak off to take a phone call in her office at the E20 bar, it was clear Ben was suspicious of her.

Pressuring her to give him information about Lisa Fowler, Mel relented and gave Ben her address.

Viewers then watched her raid her private safe and pull out a gun, prompting soap fans to predict that Mel might be the one to die soon.

Back in July, The Sun exclusively revealed how Tamzin, 48, was leaving the soap as part of an "explosive final storyline".

However her departure, and that of on-screen son Hunter, has nothing to do with the latest funeral pictures with Jay.

In the snaps, the coffin is draped with an England flag with floral tributes either side, although it's not clear what they say.
