EAGLE-EYED EastEnders fans spotted fake estate agent Melissa previously starred in a famous bank advert.
Soap viewers couldn't hide their surprise after recognising actress Katharine Bennett-Fox from Barclays' It's A Scam ad.
Ironically her latest role sees her at the heart of an expensive scam to defraud Nancy and Zack out of £50,000 by carrying out a fake house sale.
Devious Janine Butcher roped in old pal Melissa to pose as an estate agent to steal a deposit-sized sum from the unaware couple.
The schemer – who is played by actress Charlie Brooks – split the cash 50/50 with Melissa.
She then combined her own share with another £25k of savings and offered it to Linda Carter in a bid to get her to leave Albert Square.

Janine told her: "I’ll transfer it to you straight away under one condition – you are gone tomorrow and you are out of Walford for good.”
Katherine's role as a fake call centre operator, who put on a professional facade to con bank customers out of their hard earned cash, was the perfect warm up for her soap debut.
And it wasn't lost on viewers.
One wrote on Twitter: “Not EastEnders casting the ‘it’s a scam’ lady to play… a scam artist!”
