Chantelle (played by Jessica Plummer) has recently discovered she is pregnant with Gray’s (Toby-Alexander Smith) child, after he launched another vicious attack on his wife earlier this week on EastEnders.
This wasn’t the first assault viewers of the BBC soap have seen as after arriving in Walford earlier this year, it was gradually revealed the hot shot lawyer was abusing his wife.
Gray has clashed several times with Mitch Baker (Rodger Griffiths) and the two men have come head-to-head, with Chantelle suffering the consequences of her father’s feud with her husband.
With Christmas just around the corner and with emotions running high, the hairdresser could finally expose her abuser to her family, as soap boss Kate Oates has teased what’s in store for the long-suffering character.
We’re going to be pushing that story

Speaking to Express.co.uk and other press, teasing some long-running storylines, Kate said: “We’ve got some great stuff for Chantelle and Gray.
“That storyline will be continuing. It’s the EastEnders tradition of exploring stories which are really important issues and we’re going to be pushing that story.
“We’ve been building quite gently deliberately and building the public, by which I mean within the Square, the public perception of the kind of man Gray is and the kind of marriage they have.”
Viewers will have to keep their eyes peeled as the harrowing plot continues, however, some already believe Gray will be murdered as a consequence of his actions.
Taking to Twitter following Chantelle’s pregnancy news earlier this week, one viewer wrote: “Gray better be killed off during the Christmas special episodes.”
Another posted: “I’m gonna throw my #EastEnders Xmas storyline prediction out there, but I reckon Gray gets killed off. Possibly by Chantelle but maybe even Mitch.”

Could Gray’s death come as a result of Chantelle revealing the truth about her ordeal to her family, with the likes of Mitch of mother Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley) taking revenge for their daughter?
Christmas is often a time for the villains of Walford to get their comeuppance, with Archie Mitchell (Larry Lamb) being sensationally killed off in the festive episode in 2009.
Archie had been coercively controlling wife Peggy Mitchell (Barbara Windsor), but was killed by Stacey Fowler (Lacey Turner) as he had subjected her to a horrific rape ordeal.
The murder of Archie played out for several months, with the killer being revealed in the soaps live episode to commemorate the show’s 25th anniversary.
A decade on from the long-running storyline, could Gray’s murder mirror Archie’s demise with his killer being revealed during the soaps 35th anniversary celebrations?
Elsewhere in the Square, it seems another storyline which will take centre stage this Christmas will be the big reveal surrounding Chantelle’s brother Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters)having an affair with Sharon Mitchell (Letitia Dean).
The expectant mother is carrying Keanu’s second child, as the young mechanic is also to be a father to Sharon’s stepdaughter Louise Mitchell’s (Tilly Keeper) baby.
Kate told Express.co.uk and other press: “Sheanu is going to blow up.
“I think it’s safe to say that’s going to be pretty big at Christmas time,” the soap boss continued.
Will the Taylor/Atkins clan dominate this year’s explosive Christmas episodes as their plots come to a head?
EastEnders continues tonight at 8.30pm on BBC One.
