Elf On The Shelf arrives with Holly Willoughby, Jacqueline Jossa and David Beckham sharing their cheeky elves

HOLLY Willoughby has kicked off the festive season today as she shared a snap of her Elf On The Shelf on her Instagram Stories.

The TV presenter, 39, revealed Santa's helper appeared in her Christmas tree this morning ready for the Yuletide.

The ITV star is mother to Harry, 11, Belle, nine, and Chester, six, who were no doubt thrilled by the Elf's cameo.

Holly penned, "oh hey" alongside a shot of the little chap sat happily on a branch of the family's tree.

Following Holly's lead, David Beckham revealed that the Beckham household had the same festive visitor who stopped by to see their nine-year-old daughter Harper.

The former footballer and his wife Victoria explained their Elf On The Shelf was taking extra precautions this year and sported a face mask in light of the coronavirus pandemic.

Getting in on the fun, current Queen of the Jungle Jacqueline Jossa shared a short clip of her eldest Ella, five, with her two elves in bed.

The adorable video on her Instagram Stories saw the former EastEnders actress snuggled up to Ella, who introduced her elves to the camera.

While his wife Giovanna might be competing to become the first Queen of the Castle, Tom Fletcher is busy entertaining their Elf On The Shelf.

Taking to his Instagram, the McFly singer shared a shot of their festive visitor rested up against their sons' toy castle.

The singer wrote: "Look who’s back. I told him he could stay as long as he votes for @mrsgifletcher. Does the castle have an elf? #teamGi #imaceleb"

Meanwhile, Billie Faiers was sure to up the ante this Christmas season as she revealed Pop the Elf dropped by their home to deliver two Elves On The Shelf to keep a watchful eye on daughter Nelly and son Arthur.

The ITV2 star was sure to capture her little ones excited expressions with the surprise socially-distanced visitor as they stood at the garland decorated door.

She penned: "Look who come to visit all the way from the North Pole ???✨ Pop the elf !!!

"And she delivered two very cheeky elves to keep a close eye on Nelly and Arthur ? Let the fun and games begin ??❤️??✨"

Other celebs taking part in the Christmas tradition included Helen Flanagan, who said it was her first year hosting elves.

While former Towie star Cara Kilbey revealed she not only has her trusty elf but a Santa cam.

Elf on the Shelf is a helper sent by Father Christmas to watch over little children and make sure they're behaving properly over the festive period.

The popular elf normally stays until a few days after Christmas, until having to “return” to the North Pole to prepare for the following year’s festivities.

This year because of the coronavirus pandemic travel measures, many Elf on the Shelf owners are curious if their elf has to quarantine.

According to the Elf on the Shelf website, all elves are "100% healthy and remain well at the North Pole".

Yet, if families wish for the elf to quarantine or wear a mask to abide by proper protocol, that is completely acceptable too.

And for the most cautious families there is always an isolation house option.

The elf does not have to remain away from the family for the quarantine period of 14 days, just a few hours can be enough.
