Emmerdale confirms Caleb's dark side as huge clue revealed about mystery secret

Emmerdale has once again hinted at Caleb Milligan’s (William Ash) true motives for coming to the eponymous village, teasing a dark side and a thirst for revenge.

The newcomer came to the aid of Leyla Cavanagh (Roxy Shahidi) earlier this week, offering her advice on how to deal with drug dealer Callum (Tom Ashley), who has been terrorising her.

Leyla, as viewers know, has been receiving threatening text messages from the criminal, who tried to kill her best mate Suzy Merton (Martelle Edinborough) shortly after stabbing her son, which has left her fearing for her loved ones’ lives.

Caleb stumbled upon an emotional Leyla in the graveyard during Tuesday’s (March 14) edition of the ITV soap and, after discovering what she was dealing with, the businessman encouraged her to take back control.

Leyla wasn’t so sure, but Caleb was insistent, revealing that this is the method by which he operates when someone has wronged him.

‘When someone’s messed with me, when they’ve crossed the line – that’s it,’ he said, clearly speaking from experience. ‘I don’t turn my eye off, not for a second. It might take months, it might take years, but I always get there in the end.’

Intriguing.

Caleb, who made his debut over the festive season, has been harbouring a big secret since his arrival in the village, clearly up to no good.

The suave businessman, who has become something of a hero to his loved ones, has claimed that he just wants to get to know his family, with even the mighty Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) having come to look to him as a brother.

But there is more to his presence in Emmerdale than meets the eye, with a big twist for the ITV soap confirming that the newcomer is in cahoots with someone, presumably trying to take Cain down.

Yes, despite claiming to have forgiven Cain for pushing him away and robbing him of the chance to get to know his family, Caleb is seemingly biding his time, getting Cain to trust him, before he takes the ultimate revenge.

This is what fans reckon anyway, and Caleb’s words of wisdom to Leyla only further back this theory up.

It’s not just Cain, however, that Caleb is after, as he previously hinted at wanting to destroy Kim Tate (Claire King), telling Cain that he wants Home Farm.

While it’s clear to see why he has a vendetta against Cain, his reasons for wanting to bring Kim down remain shrouded in mystery.

We’ll just have to keep an eye out for more clues in the weeks and months to come.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
