CAIN Dingle was unusually relaxed during last night's trip to the eponymous Dales.
Emmerdale viewers, who are accustomed to his abrasive nature, were taken aback and shared their thoughts on Twitter.
Charity Dingle and Mackenzie Boyd's celebrated their hen and stag do on Thursday's episode of the Yorkshire-based program with Cain in attendance.
The village tough man portrayed by Jeff Hordley has gone through his share of hardships in recent months as he was locked up in prison for Al Chapman's murder.
As a result, his relationship with his sister Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) was more fracture than ever as the siblings seemed unable to move past the businessman's demise.
Regular ITV viewers will remember Cain lured Al into a barn after figuring out he was having an affair with Chas, ending years of a tumultuous feud in an accidental death.

However, during last night's Emmerdale instalment, Cain enjoyed the festivities, appearing relaxed and cheery for the first time in months.
In fact, Cain enjoyed himself so much he stumbled into Chas' home drunk at the end of last night's episode.
Cain seemingly mended his relationship with Chas by checking in on her after she didn't attend the party.
Many fans thought the moment was heart-warming and demanded to see more of drunk Cain in the future.
