ITV soap fans have been keeping a watchful eye on Emmerdale’s Meena Jutla (played by Paige Sandhu) ever since she killed Leanna Cavanagh (Mimi Slinger) earlier this year. Back in July, Meena pushed the teenager off the top of a bridge, taking her life on her 18th birthday. Having successfully gotten away with her crime the villainous nurse looks set to strike again soon, but her next victim might not be who viewers expect. Fans of the soap have speculated that Meena’s boyfriend David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) could be in danger of being her next victim. However, scenes in Monday night’s episode could have placed another Emmerdale resident at risk.

In recent weeks, David has been recovering from his injuries after being shot in the siege by Russ Posner (Rob Jarvis).

However, on Monday night’s instalment of Emmerdale viewers realised the shopkeeper has a long way to go before being back to his usual self.

David’s son Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) and his ex Priya Sharma (Fiona Wade) were horrified when he collapsed after over-exerting himself.

Priya urged her ex to get checked over at the hospital and Jacob was in agreement: “You need to get checked out.”

Eventually, David agreed to go to the hospital, saying: “Fine. It’s a load of fuss over nothing, but if it keeps you two happy.”

However, seeing David in such a bad state caused Priya to grow concerned, leading her to make a surprising offer.

“When is Meena due back?” Priya enquired.

“How long is a piece of string?” David replied swiftly.

Priya said: “Well, in that case, why don’t I move in with Amber until you can get back on your feet again?”

“I don’t need mollycoddling,” the shopkeeper insisted, but Priya hit back: “Yes David you do.

“You may be on the mend, but you’re still not a hundred percent. Besides, Amber will love spending more time with you,” she added.

Considering the offer, David said: “It’s asking a lot of you.”

Priya replied: “Honestly, anything to get me away from my dad. He’s driving me crazy.

“All he goes on about is how much he misses Manpreet, he’s like a lovesick teenager,” she joked.

“Okay, thank you,” David said, agreeing to the arrangement.

“Great, okay well I’m going to go get my car, and then we are going to take you to hospital,” Priya exclaimed.

After Priya walked out of the store, David said: “Sorry, you don’t mind her moving in for a bit do you?”

“Sure, but shouldn’t you run it past Meena first?” Jacob asked.

“She won’t mind,” David said, with his son replying: “Do you actually know your girlfriend?”

“Jake by the time Meena’s back Priya will have moved out. It’ll be fine,” David insisted.

The shopkeeper may think living with his ex is an okay temporary living arrangement, but obsessive Meena may not see it that way.

If the nurse returns early from her trip to find Priya living with her boyfriend, she could turn violent in a fit of rage.

In the past, Meena has shown signs of jealousy and is very protective of her boyfriend.

If the nurse suspects Priya is getting too close to David, she could end up going to extreme lengths to get her out of the picture.

Is Priya in danger of becoming Meena’s next murder victim? Viewers will have to tune in to find out her fate.

Emmerdale continues Tuesday at 7 pm on ITV.
