Emmerdale’s Dan Spencer could be set to leave the Dales after receiving a settlement fee for his life-changing injuries. Fans will remember Dan went into anaphylactic shock earlier this year after eating one of Brenda Walker’s (Lesley Dunlop) wraps that were covered in almond dressing, something she forgot to make clear on the label. And it turns out, Dan was severely allergic to them.
He sustained a spinal injury by hitting his back when he passed out from the reaction and has been left bound to a wheelchair, struggling to come to terms with his new way of life.
The storyline is one of the most heart wrenching the ITV soap has aired this year, as viewers watch in agony as Dan’s family refuse to accept Brenda’s apologies for “ruining” his life.
His daughter Amelia Spencer (Daisy Campbell) has taken it especially badly, and has been looking for justice for her dad ever since.
She has taken aim at Brenda by egging the cafe, something she was later forced to apologise for.

But in recent scenes, her anger reached new levels as Brenda offered Dan a settlement fee for all this to go away.
Bob Hope (Tony Audenshaw) told him about the £10,000 compensation money and Dan was left feeling a little more uplifted at the thought of putting it all behind him.
Brenda left the village recently out of embarrassment for what she had done, and good job too because Amelia is disgusted with the low amount at stake.
Claiming it wasn’t nearly enough for the life-changing damage Brenda’s careless actions have inflicted, it becomes clear Dan just wants the ordeal over with.
Last night, he accepted the cash sum in a bid to focus on his recovery.
After a number of incidents, it was proof that it was going to take a lot longer than he and his family had hoped, as he attempts to regain the ability to walk again.
But now he’s accepted the money, what is he planning on using it for?
His physio sessions were becoming quite expensive and they are pivotal for his rehabilitation.

Or will he decide to move away from the Dales and start afresh, leaving Brenda and the whole horrible experience behind him?
It might be something he’ll have to think about as Amelia’s behaviour becomes frequently more volatile towards the cafe owner.
Before Dan agreed to accepting the money, he was called into the cafe by Bob after Amelia destroyed a cake intended for charity event.
She asked for a coffee and a smoothie and as an offer of goodwill, Bob said she could have them on the house.

But she went one step further and tried to use the situation as an opportunity to get more freebies.
Asking if the cake was free, Bob could barely stop her before she purposely dropped it on the floor, causing a scene.
She was sent home by a furious Dan, but is there more to come in her war against Brenda?
