Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) is facing a nightmare following survival week in Emmerdale.
Because the HOP business organised survival week, things aren’t looking good as the bridge collapse, water rapid hell and maze fire all happened under the company’s name.
With the pressure increasing, Jai tries looking to Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) for help but sadly, as Chris Bisson explains, that doesn’t exactly work:
‘He doesn’t really have a support network at the moment. He’s been talking to Liam a bit which is nice to have some man chat. He has his dad, his sister but she’s in the hospital at the moment so he hasn’t got her, and he really relies on Laurel but unfortunately that also comes with moral guidance which is not something he always wants.
‘I think he’d be reluctant to seek help for Al. The more trouble Jai gets into the more I’m working and enjoying myself!’.
‘Laurel is pretty horrified that Jai is about to throw Ben under the bus’, Chris continued as he discusses the moment Jai tells his partner about framing Ben.
‘Initially, she takes it really badly but when he explains to her how the whole thing is going to work and how serious the charges are, she starts to understand the gravity of the situation. She doesn’t agree with it, but she understands a lot of people’s livelihoods rely on that business continuing to operate.
‘To imagine that Jai didn’t think there wouldn’t have been any criminal proceedings because of the health and safety is farfetched, he would have been aware of some of the implications – if not all of them.’
