Emmerdale's Asan N’Jie ‘will plead for second chance’ after Jamie Lomas brawl

Asan N’Jie will plead for a second chance when he faces ITV bosses over his fight with Jamie Lomas, according to reports.

The Emmerdale actor, known for playing Ellis Chapman in the soap, is believed to have made death threats against Hollyoaks actor Jamie Lomas at the TV Choice Awards on Monday (9 September).

Following the incident, his future on the soap looks in question, with ITV bosses reportedly calling him into the Leeds studios for ‘crisis talks’ later this week.

According to The Sun, Asan is fully aware of his situation and intends to ‘get down on his hands and knees’ to plead for his future.

Speaking to the publication, a source said: ‘He knows that his career in Emmerdale could be over. He’s someone at the centre of a knife crime storyline who has threatened to stab a fellow actor.

‘It doesn’t get more serious than that. He will get down on his hands and knees and plead for another chance.’

It’s also claimed Asan will ‘do anything to avoid the sack’, including going into schools and communities to raise awareness with anti-knife campaigns.

Metro.co.uk has reached out to ITV for comment.

In footage from the incident (via The Mirror), the pair can be seen being pulled apart by security, with Hollyoaks co-star Malique Thompson-Dwyer also seen among the scuffle.

It’s claimed Asan threatened to kill Jamie during the fight, and was later escorted off the premises.

In a statement to Metro.co.uk, an ITV spokesperson said: ‘We are extremely concerned to hear about an incident at last night’s TV Choice Awards involving one of Emmerdale’s cast.

‘Obviously we will be investigating and talking to the actor concerned in due course.’
