Emmerdale’s Vanessa pleads for Johnny’s life as fate confirmed amid heartbreak

Johnny Woodfield's fate was finally confirmed on tonight's Emmerdale amid heartbreak for Vanessa.

The youngster was kidnapped alongside his mother before being drugged by evil Pierce Harris, who then implied he had killed the boy.

Many viewers felt disturbed after seeing a worrying shot of Johnny – with some claiming it looked like a 'decomposing dead body'.

At the start of Wednesday night's episode, Vanessa woke up in her hospital bed and was reunited with Charity Dingle.

But terrified Vanessa asked: "Where's Johnny? Please tell me he's OK. Pierce has been drugging him."

Revealing Johnny's fate, Charity said: "He's fine. Tracy's got him. They’re giving him some fluids and checked him over. He’s absolutely fine.

When Charity explained that Pierce had been arrested and could not hurt her anymore, Vanessa asked her to bring her son.

She got to hold her son for the first time after spending weeks tied up listening to him on a baby monitor.

Relieved Vanessa said: "I just want to see my brave boy. I’ve missed you so much. You’re my little star."

But there was more heartbreak for Vanessa, who did not tell her friends and family that she has bowel cancer.

Charity told Vanessa she had been selfish and taken her for granted, adding: "We can do all the things we’ve dreamed of doing as I'm never going to let you go again."

But Vanessa looked uneasy as she was hiding her massive secret.

When she was alone with the doctor, Vanessa admitted she was not ready to tell them the truth.

She explained: "I know I have to tell them the truth. I can’t put it off forever.

"Which is why I'm going to tell my partner Charity tomorrow. I owe her that at least. God knows how she’s going to take it."

Emmerdale viewers took to Twitter after discovering that Johnny was safe and sound.

One fan said: "Vanessa be reunited with Johnny & the way Charity was lovingly smiling at them both"

"Yaay Johnny survived," added another.

A third joked: "Why was vanessa so worried about the kid? He frequently goes missing for months at a time"
