Goggleboxs Stephen hints at new show as he breaks silence on Channel 4 exit

Gogglebox OG Stephen Webb has hinted he's already got a new reality show stint in the pipeline after he broke his silence following his exit from the show.

The sofa star and his husband Daniel announced earlier this month that they would not be back for the new series of Gogglebox, which is airing now. Stephen had been on the Channel 4 show for 10 years, while Daniel joined him in 2018.

But fans of 50-year-old Stephen might not have to wait much longer to have him back on screens. That's because he has hinted at a return to television already.

"There have been a few opportunities in the pipeline but I'm not going to say too much just yet," the Brighton-native teased. Stars of Gogglebox in the past have gone on to compete on the likes of Celebrity Big Brother and I'm A Celebrity.

Speaking to The Sun, Stephen went on: "If I was approached, I would like to do Celeb Bear Grylls – I think I could cope really well. But the worst part of the experience would be eating stuff – something like rats would be my nightmare."

Offering up a safer option, Stephen also suggested that he and Daniel could be the new Richard and Judy. But he did confess I'm A Celeb was at the top of his wish list.

He added: "I think that chapter of the Gogglebox is closed for now – I've handed over the baton. Once you step over to the other side, you can't go back."

Not long after the duo announced their exit from Gogglebox, rumours swirled about what was next. And reports emerged suggesting that Stephen had signed up for Dancing On Ice, which would be huge for him.

Scarlett Moffatt is probably Gogglebox's biggest success story. She and her family joined in series three in 2014, before Scarlett went on and won I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2016.

Since then, she has appeared on a number of huge shows, including as a co-presenter on Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway. She most recently took part in Channel 4 series Scared Of The Dark – and took on a new challenge as she gave birth to her first child in June.

Meanwhile, the Baggs brothers are two more success stories from Gogglebox. The Essex family joined the show in 2020 but left after two years.

Despite not being one of the most popular families on the show, sons Joe and George have become huge on social media. Joe has 1.7million followers on TikTok, while younger brother George has 1.4m.
