Hollyoaks fans were left gobsmacked as Maxine Minneiver's new ally to take down evil Fergus Collins was unveiled as her mum Trish Minniver during the latest visit to the village.
However, evil businessman Fergus has murder on his mind so will the mother and daughter duo survive his reign of terror?
Maxine recently learned that Fergus was responsible for trying to traffic her as well as manipulating her into believing they'd slept together, and not her ex Warren Fox.
The distraught woman dropping the bombshell on Trish that it had been Fergus who'd tried to traffic her.
Trish, who is engaged to Fergus, refused to believe her daughter at first, but seemed to have a crisis of conscience when Maxine insisted all the evidence was still in the deleted folder on his phone.
Meanwhile, Fergus visited Warren in jail to deliver a chilling threat to his children Sophie, Sebastian and Joel.
When Fergus got back to his flat, Trish convinced him to run her a hot bath.
She later broke into his mobile to find all of the damning texts from the trafficker who'd tried to buy Maxine.
A mortified Trish quickly realised that she'd "failed" her daughter, so she promised Maxine that she would get the information in Fergus's phone and "make him pay".
Fergus immediately threw a wrench in their plan in announcing he wanted to leave the village the following day with Trish.
Maxine and Trish set up a meeting with Warren's son Joel, where Trish asked for his help in setting Fergus up to reveal all of his dodgy dealings once and for all.
"We try and get a confession on tape," Trish insisted.
Trish begged Joel to get her "what she needs" to secure the confession from Fergus, while the dodgy character was busy making plans to leave the village for good.
Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: "Great performance by @RealDeniseWelch on tonight's E4 #Hollyoaks. I feel Trish's redemption coming very quickly!"
Another added: "Trish, Max and Joel will make such a good team."
A third person posted: "Trish has seen Fergus for who he truly is! Come on, ladies… Take him DOWN!."
While a fourth viewer said: "Trish finally stepping up."
However, the team to take down Fergus were unaware that he had his own plans.
"I think it's time to close the book on Warren Fox," Fergus menacingly told someone over the phone.
"I want him cold by tomorrow night."
Will Fergus get exposed for his evil crimes or will he get away with another murder?
