‘Hopefully be back’ Ant and Dec spark fear of coronavirus ‘cancelling’ show

Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway wowed viewers this weekend with a new collection of entertaining segments. While some bad news was given regarding the Florida trip being cancelled, they did go on to announce many more plane tickets were now available. Viewers were suspicious over whether the prime-time show would air this weekend considering the growing threat of the coronavirus.

However Ant and Dec arrived centerstage as usual, and gave their all to a live studio audience.

Although the presenters steered clear of the audience throughout the show, the threat of the virus is still very much looming over ITV’s iconic show.

And it was in Dec’s final words of the show that viewers began fearing it would be cancelled next week.

Express.co.uk has contacted a representative from ITV to comment on Dec’s closing words.

As the music played, Dec looked down the camera and bid viewers farewell.

He said: “We will hopefully be back here next Saturday night at 7pm with Bradley Walsh’s ‘Undercover’.

“In the only show that says: ’Don’t just watch the adverts? Win them!”

In a stark final word, he added: “Have a great week – stay safe everybody – good night!”

The credits then rolled on the show, and fans instantly began questioning whether they would see Ant and Dec return next weekend.

One wrote on Twitter: “Decs closing remarks tonight we will Hopefully be here this time next week. Are we so unsure? #SaturdayNightTakeaway.”

Another questioned his comments, saying: “Hopefully back next week!?! If we’re all stuck inside we’re desperately gonna need our Ant and Dec fix!! #SaturdayNightTakeaway.”

While another suggested: “Hopefully if next week’s show is cancelled they will put Bradley Walsh’s undercover on their YouTube channel for us to watch! #SaturdayNightTakeaway.”

“Hopefully you are on next week!” one suggested. “Could you do it without an audience? Like do live feeds to people’s homes for win the ads (which was the only audience interaction tonight)? I would rather have that then no show to be honest #SaturdayNightTakeaway @antanddec.”

The coronavirus has been high on the priority list for the Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway team, as this week they announced the show would be cancelled its trip to Florida in the coming weeks.

Usually, the end of the season is marked by a huge trip to Florida, with many of the show’s viewers in tow.

But as the pair arrived on the stage this evening Dec explained: “In the current climate nothing is more important than people’s health.
