Howard Stern claims late friend Larry King 'moved in' on his model wife Beth, 48, years before host's death at 87

HOWARD Stern has alleged Larry King once tried to "move in" on Howard's then-girlfriend Beth.

During a tribute to the late TV host on Monday, shock jock Howard claimed Larry was "getting a bit creepy" and it "annoyed" Howard that Larry was so "ultrafocused" on Beth.

Neither Howard nor Beth revealed when the alleged moment happened, but it was before they wed in 2008 and it took place when Howard was a guest on Larry's show.

"He moved like right in — he didn’t even see me,” Stern said on SiriusXM.

"It was getting a little bit creepy. I thought it was funny, don’t get me wrong. I didn’t feel threatened by Larry being ultrafocused on Beth, but it got kind of annoying."

Former model Beth added that the staff of Larry's show moved Howard to a different room leaving her alone with Larry.

"He was being very flirtatious, it was not inappropriate at all, but it was so sweet and charming,” she laughed.

"I could have gotten him I think."

But she also shared that she felt it was "so weird," and that afterwards, Larry asked her for a "hug and kiss goodbye.”

Larry, whose career as a broadcaster lasted more than 60 years, died aged 87 after being hospitalised with coronavirus.

He also had a number of health issues, including suffering a near-fatal stroke in 2019.

Larry was married eight times, to seven different woman, and had five children.

The news of his death was announced on his official Twitter page, sparking a flurry of tributes from the world of media and beyond.

Writing on twitter, Oprah Winfrey said: "It was always a treat to sit at your table. Thank you Larry King."

Former president Bill Clinton said: "[Larry] had a great sense of humor and a genuine interest in people.

"He gave a direct line to the American people and worked hard to get the truth for them. Farewell, my friend."
