Strictly: Rose emotional as she says 'I will miss Giovanni'

Just two couples performed in the Strictly Come Dancing final after AJ Odudu was forced to pull out. Both finalists, Rose Ayling-Ellis and John Whaite have formed strong bonds with their professional dance partners over the course of the series. Rose broke down as she spoke about how she will miss dancing with Giovanni each day.
Rose began: “I will miss learning to dance everyday. I will miss Giovanni a lot.
“Strictly will just stay in my heart forever, it will, this is too much.”
Rose broke in tears as she paid tribute to her professional dancer partner.
Giovanni added: “Rose is the best thing to happen in my life.
“I want to say thank you for everything you have done for me, to me, that’s it.”
Rose continued: “I’m going to be dancing the Couple’s Choice again tonight and I just want to make the most of it.”
Speaking ahead of the final, Giovanni called Rose the “most beautiful thing” and had made a “big impact”.
He told It Takes Two host Janette Manrara: “I think personally, I think Rose deserves the most beautiful thing in the world. She just realised she can do everything she wants.
“For us we’re just going there tomorrow night and enjoy ourselves but I think we made a big impact.
“You are the most beautiful thing that ever happened in my life so I’m very grateful, I’m very privileged to be the one to do the journey with you, so thank you.”
On what it would mean to win Strictly, Rose said: “I feel like, it would be really nice ending to all the hard work we both put in, all the hard work for me to get here in the first place before I had Strictly.
“It’s nice to show everyone, being different is what can make you win.”
Rose was inundated with support from Strictly Come Dancing viewers on Saturday night.
“I do love John and Johannes but for me it’s Rose and Gio all the way #Strictly,” Helen Sheridan posted on Twitter.
Sia’s Creations added: “Rose in tears makes me cry. Everyone please vote for her! #Strictly.”
“Rose and Giovanni are the opposite sides of the same coin, strictly has brought them together and they just adore each other, absolutely genuinely adore each other #Strictly,” Hannah Hassall tweeted.
Ahead of the Strictly final, Rose was the bookmakers favourite to lift the Glitterball Trophy.
According to Ladbrokes she was a “shoo in” to win, after winning the favour of the public and judges.
The bookies made the EastEnders star just 1/16 in the betting for the Glitterball Trophy.
Meanwhile John was way back at 10/1 before the final episode was broadcast.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “AJ’s unfortunate exit means it’s now a two-horse race for this year’s Strictly crown, although the odds suggest John Whaite is simply making up the numbers at this point.”
