Ricky Mitchell (Frankie Day) has had to grow up fast in EastEnders this year, after learning in January that he is going to be a dad.
It came as a shock to the Slaters when it was discovered that 12-year-old Lily (Lillia Turner) was pregnant, and the Brannings got a similar shock when Ricky was revealed as the father.
In upcoming scenes, he will leave dad Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) proud when he makes a big decision all by himself.
Jack has been Ricky’s sole carer for many years, with mum Sam Mitchell (Kim Medcalf) coming in and out of his life as she pleases.
Sam’s most recent return to Ricky’s life came to an abrupt end when she was offered a job in Spain running a hotel, which she insisted would help her to provide for the new baby.
With Sam out of the picture once again, Ricky comes to a big decision, and leaves Jack emotional when he reveals that he wants to change his name from Mitchell to Branning.
While Ricky is busy making this decision, Lily is facing danger as her waters break at home, and she finds herself in labour.
With the ambulance delayed, Stacey and Jean (Lacey Turner and Gillian Wright) prepare to deliver the baby themselves.
However, things take a dangerous turn when Stacey heads to the kitchen to get towels, and ends up trapped by creepy stalker Theo Hawthorne (William Ellis).
Will the birth of Lily’s birth go smoothly, and will Stacey escape Theo’s clutches?
