Jeremy Corbyn waiting until General Election day to put up Christmas tree

Jeremy Corbyn will be waiting until December 12th before putting his Christmas Tree up, amid his "busy" election campaign – in case he needs it at Number 10.

The Labour leader teased he'd be waiting until the date of the General Election vote to decide when and where it goes.

The festive tree could be joining him at Downing Street if he wins the election, with results set to be announced in the early hours of December 13th.

Speaking on This Morning on Tuesday morning, the party leader shared his hopes to be voted Prime Minister as he battles against Conservative leader Boris Johnson and the other party candidates.

Hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield brought the attention to Christmas and where he might be celebrating this year, depending on the result.

Holly then quizzed if he'd put his tree up, or if he was avoiding doing so until he knew where he'd be living in a few weeks time.

Jeremy laughed off her comments, before confessing he was likely to hold off until the result.

Holly asked: "Have you got your tree up, or are you gonna wait in case you have to save it for Number 10?"

Jeremy replied: "Well… I think we'll probably put it up around the 12th."

Holly excitedly replied: "Ooh, so yes!"

Jeremy added: "We'll put one up, yes. At the moment as you probably gather we're a bit busy."

Holly queried: "But where will it be?"

Phillip then turned the conversation to whether he'll remain with Labour if he doesn't win the election, to which he admitted he was "intending on winning".

He confirmed he did hope to remain Labour leader regardless of the result, keen to "carry out" change.

This Morning airs weekdays and Sundays at 10:30am on ITV.
