Jill Duggar’s husband Derick Dillard slammed for calling cooking ‘woman’s work’ – The Sun

JILL Duggar’s husband Derick Dillard is coming under fire for calling cooking “woman’s work” in an Instagram post.

The former Counting On husband posted a photo of his wife Jill, 28, cooking in their kitchen with son Sam in a carrier on her back.

Derick, 30, captioned the photo: “Baby Sam helping Jill in the kitchen #teachemyoung #ergobaby #womanswork."

The #womanswork hashtag led to followers slamming Derick, who believes in old school traditions and has strict religious morals.

One follower fired: “Woman's work? #sexistmuch you know for someone who's supposed to be a Christian, you don't realize Jesus was as liberal as they get!

“He didn't put clauses in how to be a good person, and he loved and accepted all! You should shut up and try it some time!”

A second hater blasted: “Women's work? What year are we living in! Put down that phone and get over there and show your sons that you should be helping her! Good lord!”

A third commented: “Women’s work? Please. It’s everyone’s responsibility to wash dishes…also to raise a child. Most of this was probably to get a rise out of people following you, but a marriage is a partnership, not an ownership.”

Another slammed: “#Womenswork? Are you out of your mind!? We live in the 21st century. House work & food prep is just as much #manswork as it is women’s!!”

A fifth bashed: “Woman’s work… really. Maybe you should be helping her in the kitchen, or at the very least unstrap your son and play/watch him while your wife is busy in the kitchen. #notjustwomanswork."

Derick has caused controversy in recent years with his beliefs.

In 2017, TLC released in a statement that they are no longer filming with Derick after he criticized transgender I Am Jazz star Jazz Jennings, 19, and even used male pronouns instead of female to describe her.

He tweeted at the time: "I pity Jazz, 4 those who take advantage of him in order 2 promote their agenda, including the parents who allow these kinds of decisions 2 be made by a child.

“It’s sad that ppl would use a juvenile this way. Again, nothing against him, just unfortunate what’s on TV these days.”

He wrote in another tweet: "Also, has anyone looked into whether a child is capable of making that kind of decision. We can’t vote til we’re 18; our brains aren’t fully developed til around 25.”

But Derick has insisted the reason he and his family stopped filming is because they weren’t paid for appearing on Counting On.

In December, Derick claimed over Instagram that Jill's dad Jim Bob negotiated show contracts on his children’s behalf.

The law student replied to a fan of why they filmed without being compensated: “We were pressured to think that we were required to and that we would get sued if we didn’t.”

Derick continued how he and Jill were under the impression that the Duggar kids “didn’t make any money from the show.”

He added: “But rather, it was presented to us kids as something that was done as a ministry that TLC periodically subsidized in the form of reimbursements for things like gas, restaurants, travel, etc.

"But not any actual pay on top of that.”

Derick and Jill are currently feuding with her family over the claims, as he alleged they are not allowed in the family home without patriarch Jim Bob there.

Jill was also absent from Christmas and her sister-in-law Abbie’s baby shower.
