Atomic Kitten star Kerry Katona is set to take the place of Katie Price on Steph McGoverns show Steph's Packed Lunch, it has been reported.

The 44 year old singer will host a few segments a week on topics close to her heart, replacing Katie Price after her alleged assault.

The news comes after Steph confirmed Katie wouldn't be returning to the show in an interview with The Sun.

She said: "There are no plans to have Katie Price back.

"We’ve got a great relationship with her but at the moment, she won’t be returning."

After being asked if she was supporting Katie, she added: "I don’t know her particularly well other than working on the show.

"I don’t have her number or anything like that. I just know her from the show."

Channel 4 spokespeople have since confirmed that Kerry Katona will be taking on the role.

A TV source claimed: "Katie had a really good run on the show, but Kerry is having her big break now.

"It's a really big deal for Kerry and she's already started filming some bits for it.

"She's excited to be back on TV and follow in the footsteps of her best mate Katie."

Katie, 43, hasn’t made an on-screen appearance since revealing her bruised face after she was allegedly assaulted last month.

The famous model and personality was taken to hospital after police responded to her home in Essex at around 1:30am.

A male suspect in his 30s was held in suspicion of assaulting Price following the incident.

Speaking to The Sun at the time, Katie said: “I’ve got a big bruise, my face is all puffy, and I went to hospital. I’m still all dazed. I’m devastated. I’ve told police that I was assaulted, and am in shock that this happened.

“I ran away after being punched — I ran to Harvey’s house nearby and have now done damage to my feet, which I previously injured.

“The fight was unprovoked — I was just sitting there watching telly when the assault happened.

“I can’t say any more.”

Katie Price’s fiancé and former Love Island star, Carl Woods, has since dismissed rumours he had anything to do with the assault, writing on Instagram: "I have remained quiet until now due to the investigation.

"However, I have found it so difficult to keep quiet on social media due to shocking abuse I have received.

"Anybody who thinks I hit Katie, you're completely delusional."

The couple have since been seen together at Katie’s property in West Sussex.

The mum-of-five may be experiencing a traumatic couple of weeks, but good news comes as she celebrates her son Harvey Price, 19, graduating from school.
