Elle (Joey King) got a new man in her life in Kissing Booth 2. Taylor Zakhar Perez played Marco and it didn’t take long for there to be a rumor claiming he’s dating King. Perez said this is interesting and talked more about their friendship.
Joey King and Taylor Zakhar Perez are rumored to be dating
King returned to her character of Elle Evans in the sequel. This time Elle and Noah (Jacob Elordi) were separated as he was away at college. She crosses paths with Marco and they grow closer.
Fans noticed the actors were pretty close too by posting pictures together on Instagram. Perez wrote a touching caption to celebrate her birthday.
“Honestly I could write about this woman all day. She is the reason I joined the KB2 family, she welcomed me with open arms and love, she supported me, she pushed me, she made me laugh (like pee my pants laughter and had to check my underwear), she inspired me to be a bettter actor, she shared her family with me, THE LIST GOES ON. Grateful for you forever. #tbt,” he wrote.
King commented on the post with, “Can’t imagine my life without you. I heart you T.”
King said the dating rumor is interesting
The actor talked about his friendship with King again. He also reacted to the rumor they’re dating.
“We were quarantine buddies so I would see [King] all the time because we lived five minutes away from each other,” Perez said on the podcast, Chicks in The Office. “We know what our relationship is, we love each other dearly.”
He then addressed the reactions to their friendship. “It’s been interesting how everyone has been trying to make something out of it but it’s fine,” Perez said. “I mean, hey, I would love to be dating Joey King, she’s dope.”
Perez said he’d date a friend. “I’m a huge fan of dating your friend, someone that you know and you trust because that’s where it all starts right,” he explained. “For me, non-sexual intimacy is so much more important to me at first. I’m all about the sensitive stuff.”
King previously dated Elordi in 2018. They broke up a few months later. That means they had to work together on the sequels after their breakup.
They’ll be in ‘Kissing Booth 3’
King and Elordi will be starring in Kissing Booth 3, which will be released on Valentine’s Day in 2021. Perez reportedly will be in the third movie.
The movie was filmed in L.A. and South Africa. Perez talked about getting closer to Elordi during that time.
“We just kind of hit it off,” he told ET Online. “When we were in South Africa, we had dinner together. I cooked for her, she cooked for me. We just became kind of like the best of friends.”
It sounds like the actors have a very tight friendship. Perez said he’d love to be dating King but fans will have to wait to see if that’ll actually happen.
