Paul calls off reunion with Billy amid crash horror in Coronation Street

We really thought Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) and Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) were going to get their happy ever after in this evening’s Coronation Street, but alas, it wasn’t to be.

After a conversation with Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) in the café, Billy decided that it was time to go out and get what he really wanted: Paul.

Heading to the builder’s yard, he laid his heart on his sleeve, only for Paul to knock him back, saying it was best for them to just be friends.

The issue? Billy had made a big thing about not being able to trust Todd after what happened with Mike, and he couldn’t be with someone he couldn’t trust.

However, viewers will know that Todd wasn’t the one responsible for assaulting Mike; it was Paul. Todd simply took the blame to protect his friend from a stint in prison.

Knowing that he was really to blame, Paul felt as though he couldn’t take things further with Billy.

However, everything changed later in the episode when Paul was knocked from a motorbike by Carla (Alison King) in the Underworld van.

He was taken into hospital and bandaged up, before being sent home once more.

Back in the flat, still reeling from the shock of the accident, Billy and Paul were left to discuss their feelings once again.

This time, things escalated, and they ended up locking lips.

This didn’t last long though, as Paul once again got cold feet, pushing Billy away and insisting that he couldn’t commit to anything with him.

Will the pair ever sort things out and finally accept that they both have feelings for each other?
