Power show boss admits killing off Rolla was a mistake – but insists she has ‘no regrets’ about Ghost’s murder – The Sun

POWER show boss Courtney Kemp has admitted that killing off Rolla was a 'mistake'.

But the showrunner goes on to add that she has no regrets about Ghost's murder.

Answering questions during a live Instagram Q&A, Kemp reads out a comment by a fan, who writes: "I feel like Rolla should have never died that fast."

RSK gang leader Rolla, played by Darrell Britt-Gibson, was killed off in the first of Power's six seasons.

He was murdered by criminal boss and his mentor James 'Ghost' St Patrick (Omari Hardwick), after fellow drug boss Tommy Egan (Joseph Sikora) convinced Ghost he was a snitch.

On Rolla's death, Kemp told fans: "Don't know what to say to you. But Ghost made a mistake.

She added: "If you go back and watch it, Ghost made a mistake."

Later on in the series, which airs on the Starz network, Ghost finds out that Rolla was in fact innocent.

And on whether she regretted killing off any of Power's biggest character, including Ghost – who is shot by his son Tariq – she said adamantly: "No, not at all."

The American crime drama which can be watched on Netflix, was produced in collaboration with Curtis Jackson, aka 50 Cent, who also stars in the show.

The rapper turned actor was recently forced to apologise to fans upset by the news that the plug has been pulled on the early spin-offs of the TV series due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
