RAG 'N' Bone Man told his neighbours he wants his son to grow up in his £1million countryside home amid a row with a housing developer.
The Human singer has accused Whitehall Homes of trying to "bully" him out of his property in Heathfield, East Sussex, as part of a plan to build a new estate of 34 houses.
Venting on a local Facebook group, he said: “I don’t want money, I want a place for my son to grow up.”
The singer, real name Rory Graham, has a three-year-old called Reuben. He's previously spoken fondly of having his friends' kids running around his house and reading bedtime stories.
Earlier this year he was forced to scrap plans to add a pool and "party barn" after objections the two-storey build was too large.
Now he has urged residents to object to the new estate.
He wrote: “Whitehall Homes Ltd want to build 34 houses on the land behind us. They’ve spent the last year using bully tactics to try and acquire my property.
“Cutting down 50 plus trees and destroying wildlife. I don’t want to leave the area, but if the planning goes ahead, I’ll have to move.
“Imagine what that many houses will do to the already growing traffic problems coming out of town. Any support would be appreciated.”
However, Whitehall Homes has said: “Whitehall Homes has made a considerable effort to provide a housing development that caters for the local community and recognised local housing shortage.
"Our proposals takes due consideration and care for ecology in order to provide an environmentally friendly development that we are proud of. The location of the development will cause minimal inconvenience toward the greater community and boasts a truly outstanding location for future private occupiers.
"The development will also make a contribution toward the local affordable housing deficit and will make significant funding contributions toward the local and wider community.”
