NeNe Leakes is publicly feuding with Andy Cohen after he publicly shaded her on Watch What Happens Live. After a new episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta aired on Sunday, the Bravo hosted noted that Leakes wore a dress she had worn before. Cohen pointed out that the strap of the outfit had ripped and she somehow managed to get it fixed to wear it for her RHOA confessionals.
“By the way, one of Nene’s confessional looks this year is the same dress she wore to our big doorbell show in L.A. where the strap broke, so I guess she fixed her strap, which we love,” Cohen said on his late-night show.
When his guests, Ashanti and Eva Marcille, were shocked to hear Cohen throw shade at Leakes he said he didn’t mean it.
“Was that shady? I didn’t mean for that to be shady,” he explained.
NeNe Leakes reacts on Instagram
After Leakes was made aware of the clip, she publicly called out Cohen on Instagram.
“Can somebody please tell me what was the point of this?” she asked. “Like I don’t get it. That was 2 years ago I wore this dress ONCE, so i can’t sit in a confessional with it on @bravoandy. How many times have you recycled your suits and ties? #pointless #messy why you care?”
“It’s enough that we #RHOA ladies come for each other and now we have to worry about executives coming for us!” Leakes continued. “No, I mean coming for me! It’s not cool. Wasn’t you interviewing those girls? What you mad about? Y’all stay coming for me but soon as I say something or do something I’m wrong. I DONT APPRECIATE THIS AT ALL.”
Leakes followed up her post with another one of a gallery of pictures. In the publication, the RHOA star showcased many other powerful women wearing the same dress more than once. The slideshow included Michelle Obama, Tiffany Haddish, Kim Kardashian, Kate Middleton, Keira Knightley, and Helen Mirren.
“Not sure why women who are public figures can’t repeat an outfit but these ladies did it fabulously and I will continue to do so whenever I feel like it. I love my clothes,” Leakes wrote.
Andy Cohen owns his shade
Over on Twitter, Cohen replied to a Bravo fan that told him his comment towards Leakes was shady.
“Andy, you know it was shady,” the viewer tweeted.
The WWHL presenter replied using a GIF of Leakes that read, “I said what I said.”
In that infamous reunion scene that Cohen posted, Kandi Burruss then replies to Leakes saying, “And what you said was some bullsh**”
It was only fitting that Leakes herself than take the Burruss line and quote her to follow up Cohen’s tweet.
Is NeNe Leakes quitting?
The feud between Leakes and Cohen comes days after she gave an interview where she hints that season 12 might be her last on RHOA.
“I don’t know…I really don’t know that. Never really know what I’m doing until the season is over and we talk about it,” Leakes told Hollywood Life about returning to RHOA.
The former The New Normal actress cites that there are things that are going behind-the-scenes that are not fair for her.
“I just think there’s a lot of things that aren’t fair,” she added. “Just things that — Behind the scenes things that you guys don’t get to see. So I just have to talk with my team and decide what’s best for me.”
