Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan confirm TV comeback in new Channel 4 series – The Sun

TELLY legends Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan have signed up to host a new five-part series for Channel 4.

The married couple, who fronted This Morning for more than a decade before launching a teatime chat show, will present Richard & Judy: Keep Reading and Carry On.

It will see the pair joined from their home by authors and celebrities by video link to discuss what they are reading while everyone is stuck at home.

Richard, 63, and Judy, 71, fronted a similar feature called Book Club on their Channel 4 show, which ran for seven years until 2008.

It will be Judy's first regular presenting job since she left a gig on the Loose Women panel in 2015.

Richard said: "It is no secret that Judy and I are avid readers and we are excited to return to Channel 4 to share what we love with viewers."

Judy added: "Books can transport you to incredible places from the comfort of your sofa and so there is no better time to share our top picks for lockdown reads.

"We will hear from viewers, celebrities and authors about the books that have helped them whilst staying at home."

Richard & Judy: Keep Reading and Carry On will air five 30-minute episodes over a week from Monday, May 4 on Channel 4 at 5.30pm.

The couple were much loved by viewers in the 90s and 2000s for their on-air bickering and quirky presenting style.

They returned for a guest stint presenting This Morning in February with Richard opening the show saying: "“We did warn you, we said we'd come back.”

He added: "It’s like they put us in the freezer… like cryogenics for two decades and we’ve come out and picked up where we left off.”

Viewers were delighted to see them back likening their return to a "huge hug" with one tweeting: “Loving the King & Queen of daytime TV."
