Ben Shephard welcomed to the show journalist Richard Madeley, singer and actress Sheila Ferguson and television personality Mark Wright. The three battled it out on Tipping Point Lucky Stars in hopes of winning big for a good cause. At one point, all three were in hysterics on the ITV show as Richard won an interesting prize – a pair of underpants covered with Ben’s face. But he promised he would wear them on his next Good Morning Britain appearance.
After a successful turn on the Tipping Point machine, the 65-year-old was told by Ben he’d won a prize.
“Very excited for this,” he answered as he waited to find out what he’d be taking home.
“Always ready to lend you some much-needed support, you have won yourself some Tipping Point underpants,” Ben revealed.
The underwear was covered in images of the 46-year-old presenter’s face, and the three burst out laughing.
“Judy’s going to be beside herself,” Ben commented, alluding to Richard’s television presenter wife, Judy Finnigan.
Richard, who frequently presents ITV’s morning show, replied: “Next time I’m sitting on Good Morning I’ll wear them.”
“Make sure you do, make sure you do,” Ben laughed.
Later, Richard defeated his two fellow contestants, having built up £2,700 in his bank.
He was able to compete in the final round, where he had the chance to win up to £20,000 for the charity.
After securing an impressive £7,300, he chose to risk it all to try to win the Jackpot.
After a tense moment, the Jackpot coin was secured, and Richard sealed the £20,000.
“I’m not much of a chancer,” he admitted to Ben. “I don’t take risks.
“That was very counterintuitive for me. But I just thought – it was so close to the edge, three chances, it would be silly not to give it a go.”

“That was a fabulous game,” Ben commented. “£20,000 which is an amazing amount of money and I know it’s going to go to some great causes, can you tell us about them?”
“They’re going to get £10,000 each,” he replied. “It’s St Francis House Essex which is a wonderful hospice in my home county.
“And the other is Cornwall Air Ambulance, we’ve just bought them a brand new chopper – took us a few years but we did it.
“It needs to be kept up in the air, and that costs. So they’ll get £10,000, too.”
“Amazing,” the host responded. “And they’re going to be thrilled to bits.
“And I know I am as well, because you played an absolutely fabulous game, leaving with £20,000.
“And of course, you’ve got your Tipping Point underpants and the fanny pack as well.”
“Oh, heaven on earth,” he joked. “I’ve had a great time.”
Tipping Point airs daily at 4pm on ITV.
