Sex/Life is the new Netflix drama that follows the life of a wife and mother who is taken back to the exciting times of her youth when she reunites with an ex-boyfriend. As the first season of the drama has already caught the attention of viewers, many are wondering about the future of the show. Will Sex/Life have a second season? Sex/Life is the new Netflix series based on BB Easton’s 2016 memoir 44 Chapters About 4 Men.
The drama follows Billie Connelly (played by Sarah Shahi), a suburban mother of two.
Billie’s life gets flipped on its head when she begins journaling about her old flame Brad (Adam Demos).
The more she reminisces about her passionate relationship with Brad, the more she questions her whole way of life.
Things soon get complicated when her husband Cooper (Mike Vogel) uncovers her writing.
The first season is available in full on Netflix now, but some fans have already binge-watched every episode.
Will there be a season two of Sex/Life?
Currently, Netflix has yet to announce if Sex/Life will return for a second season.
A decision on whether or not the show will be renewed likely won’t be made until after they’ve had more time to gauge the reception of the first season.
But, it seems many fans are already letting the streaming service know they want to see more of the show.
Taking to Twitter one viewer wrote: “#sexlife @netflix Sex/Life on Netflix!!! Anyone watched it? Is it wrong to want her to end up with Brad? It’s an interesting short series. I hope for season 2 I want to end up with Brad”
“Sex/Life shows you how dangerous a strong connection with an ex is & remaining in communication with them when you shouldn’t be. That show was wild as f***. I need a season 2,” a second fan commented.
Another agreed, adding: “sex/life on netflix 10/10, we better be getting a season 2.” [Sic]
“There better being a season 2 for sex/life,” a fourth fan agreed.
When will Sex/Life season two be released?
Season 1 of Sex/Life began filming in March 2020, but production ground to a halt due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Filming of the series restarted in August and ran through to December, with the finished product hitting Netflix in June 2021.
Judging by this time scale, if the show does get renewed for a second season, fans could expect season two to arrive in mid to late 2022.
Season one of Sex/Life consisted of eight episodes, so if fans get another series they will likely be treated to another eight episodes or more.
But, as Netflix are currently keeping tight-lipped about the future of the show, fans will have to wait and see if there’s more to Billie Connelly’s story.
