For over a year, we have witnessed Geoff Metcalfe (Ian Bartholomew) slowly reveal his true and very ugly colours in Coronation Street as his controlling nature has seen him manipulate every aspect of wife Yasmeen Nazir’s (Shelley King) life.
From almost the outset, Alya (Sair Khan) has harboured doubts about menacing Geoff, believing that there is something underlying about him but he has so far managed to paint a mask over his true nature.
In the meantime, having been belittled, gaslit, controlled and abused, Yasmeen is a shadow of her former self. And as Geoff’s desperation to cling onto the control he wields over his wife reaches desperate stages, Alya sees through him.
Recently, fans were horrified when Geoff reacted to not having his dinner on the table by killing Yasmeen’s beloved pet chicken Charlotte and forcing her to eat her.
As Yasmeen was broken, Alya became aware of her gran’s despair but Yasmeen has so far defended Geoff to the hilt and not revealed what he has done. But when Alya starts to do her own digging after a series of discoveries, she decides that Yasmeen needs to get out of this relationship and fast.

As Alya involves the police and helps Yasmeen pack her bags, will she be able to help her escape – and is this the end of the line for Geoff as he is seemingly bang to rights?
New pictures teased by ITV show the dramatic scenes accompanied by the caption: ‘With the support of Toyah, Alya reports Geoff to the police. Determined to rescue her gran, she helps her pack up her belongings.
‘But is Yasmeen ready to listen?’
It remains to be seen how Geoff will react to this turn of events and whether Yasmeen and Alya can break has carefully orchestrated manipulation.
