Bernie Winters (Jane Hazlegrove) is set to find a surprising new talent next week in Coronation Street and instead of supporting his partner, Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) ends up getting incredibly jealous.
The couple have had a lot of ups and downs since they established a connection. Most recently, Dev did his upmost to save Bernie from time behind bars after her doppelgänger, Fern (Gabrielle Glaister), committed robberies pretending to be her.
And last summer, Bernie ended up punching Dev after he accidentally asked her for personal services, but that’s a story for another day.
Next week, it becomes apparent that Bernie and Dev are spending a lot of their spare time together golfing.
However, much to Bernie’s annoyance, she hears from Ches (Sam Aston) that Dev let her win their latest round.
Confused, Bernie confronts Dev, who tells her that she was tee-rific (sorry) and the team would be lucky to have her.
Returning from the golf range again, Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell) assumes Dev let her win again, but it turns out Bernie is actually very good at the sport!
At No.5, Bernie explains how the Ladies’ Captain reckons they’ll waive the membership fee and offer her a scholarship, and all Dev can do is try and appear pleased for her.
Jealousy is never a good look, but can Dev see the situation from a different perspective and be proud of Bernie’s skills?
