Spoilers: Sharon devastated in EastEnders as Phil returns at Dennis' funeral

Sharon Mitchell (Letitia Dean) wanted nothing more than for son Dennis Rickman (Bleu Landau) to have one perfect final day in EastEnders, but things didn’t quite go as she’d planned, as Phil (Steve McFadden) made a shocking return during tonight’s episode — leaving Sharon in complete and utter shock.

The day of Dennis’ funeral arrived, and Sharon was determined to make it the perfect send off, and therefore she banned all the Mitchells from attending the service — a decision which left Ben (Max Bowden) incredibly upset.

As the funeral proceedings got underway, someone could be seen watching from afar.

Following the service, Sharon attempted to say a few words in the Square gardens, but she was ultimately unable to do so, and thus Ian (Adam Woodyatt) stepped in to support her.

At The Vic, Sharon became incredibly upset for the lack of pepperoni pizza — Dennis’ personal favourite — and berated best mate Linda (Kellie Bright), leaving the landlady incredibly upset.

Meanwhile, in the gardens, Phil showed up, and placed a flower at the side of the memorial.

As Sharon prepared to leave The Vic, Phil entered — and all eyes turned to him.

Sharon noticed the tension, and turned round to see her former-husband-but-now-sworn-enemy standing before her, as the hugely powerful ‘Doof Doof’ sounded — leaving us eagerly awaiting the next instalment.
