Stranger Things ‘to welcome four new characters’ as show teases story line ‘far, far away from Hawkins’ – The Sun

STRANGER Things is reportedly set to expand its roster of characters.

The Netflix drama’s cast of youngsters have captured the hearts of viewers and it looks like a new batch of talent is set to join the fold.

Show runners are apparently seeking out four men to join the series with “recurring roles.”

Specifically, they are looking for three teenagers and an adult, according to TV line.

Among the teens they are looking to cast “an entitled jock” and “a metalhead,” who will no doubt serve as rivals to the likes of Mike, Lucas and Dustin.

Meanwhile the description for the adult man says he “possesses characteristics that suggest he will figure prominently in a certain story line set far, far away from Hawkins.”

Considering the season 4 teaser dropped by Netflix ran with the tagline “We’re not in Hawkins anymore,” it’s safe to say Eleven and co are set for a whole lot of upheaval after Joyce made the heart-breaking decision to move away for a fresh start.

However, given that production is still in such early stages, it’s very possible these roles could be altered or cut altogether in the run up to filming early next year.

Fans were gutted last week to discover that the show wouldn’t be making a return in the summer of 2020.

Filming is due to run from January to August, meaning a winter release date is decidedly more likely.

Season 4 will be made up of eight episodes, rather than season 3’s nine.

While it may be a long road to new episodes, Stranger Things’ writers have been taking to the show’s official Twitter account to provide hints at what fans can expect.

Every Friday they post a list of films that they claim have inspired the show in some way, be it theme, location or plot lines.

The first hinted that Joyce would be locked in a battle with survivors’ guilt after sealing Hopper’s fate in an explosion.

Elsewhere, Eleven actress Millie Bobby Brown admitted that show bosses were “feeling the pressure” amid the flurry of fan theories and predictions.

Hopper actor David Harbour took matters into his own hands as he called show creators The Duffer Brothers during a live interview to find out whether he was alive or not.

Meanwhile bosses left fans in stitches by sharing their favourite blooper from season 3.

Stranger Things seasons 1-3 are available to stream on Netflix now.
