Strictly Come Dancing 2019: Karim Zeroual suffers knock-back after topping leaderboard

Strictly Come Dancing is in the third week of the competition and tonight fifteen celebrity contestants will take to the dance floor once again, hoping they have what it takes to impress the judges. But for Karim Zeroual, it may be the last time he performs in the show.

Karim, who is partnered with professional dancer Amy Dowden was top of the leaderboard last week after they stunned the judging panel with their Foxtrot.

Craig Revel Horwood kicked off the feedback with: “Don’t go on darling, I’m going to cry! You, dear boy are definitely one to watch. Brilliant!”

Motsi Mabuse added: “I thought that was Hollywood, pure class, quality, on top of the board dancing. That was magnificent. Keep it up.”

“Oh my darling you are ticking my boxes,” Shirley Ballas flirted.

Bruno Tonioli concluded the judges comments with: “Listen week two, expectational. Plus, you are not just elegant, but when you are off on your own, you have that wonderful agile physicality. A bit like a young Gene Kelly, and I mean it.”

Despite being second on the leaderboard for week one, and first last week, he faces stiff competition from Kelvin Fletcher this week.

According to the latest odds from Ladbrokes, the former Emmerdale star is going to win the series, knocking Karim to second place.

Could this also be predicting the outcome of week three’s leaderboard?

Sitting at the top with odds at 2/1, Kelvin is the contestant most likely to lift the Glitterball Trophy later this year.

As for Karim, the bookmakers says he has a 9/4 chance of scooping first place with Amy.

While Kelvin and Karim represent the men, Emma Barton is the first female contestant with the biggest chance of winning.

She has an 8/1 chance of making it to the final and being crowned the 2019 champion.

Should this happen, she would be the first celebrity to get professional dance partner Anton Du Beke to victory.

Nevertheless, tonight, Karim is hoping his Samba to Kung Fu Fighting by Carl Douglas from King Fu Panda is going to save him from the dreaded dance off.

But will he have what it takes to impress the viewers and get them to pick up the phones and vote?

As for who is most likely to be in the bottom two for week three, David James’ name was mentioned.

Jessica O’Reilly of Ladbrokes said: “Unfortunately for David it’s unlikely that he’ll be able to keep a clean sheet this weekend and will be shown the red card by the judging panel on Sunday evening.”

He is at evens to face the boot while Anneka Rice has a 5/1 chance.
