Strictly fury as Alex Scott is taken off It Takes Two and replaced mid-interview

Strictly Come Dancing fans were outraged tonight when Alex Scott's interview on it Takes Two was 'ruined' by sound issues.

The former footballer was discussing her Blackpool performance alongside pro partner Neil Jones when the sound cut out in the middle of the chat.

Unaware of the technical problems, Alex carried on chatting until presenter Zoe Ball raised her arm in the air and pulled a face.

With their microphones seemingly not working, Zoe could just about be heard saying: "We are having some sound problems at the moment. I do apologise."

There was complete silence once again as Alex and Neil continued to chat to the presenter, before they were completely taken off.

The pair's interview was replaced by a massive glitterball on the screen with the message: "We apologise for the sound problems."

This was in turn replaced by pre-recorded footage of Strictly professionals Johannes Radebe and Luba Mushtuk demonstrating a jive.

Eventually, the trio popped back on the screen – and they had sorted the problem by giving Alex a microphone to hold.

After thanking Johannes and Luba, Zoe said: "We do apologise. We had sound problems. We lost you for a little bit. We are back."

She jokingly added: "That was all exciting. It was like the 70s."

Angry Strictly fans didn't see the funny side and took to Twitter after missing out on the interview with Alex and Neil.

One furious viewer said: "I’m actually fuming, we’ve literally missed all the interview of course it had to happen to my favourite couple"

Another added: "Fuming missed most of the @AlexScott interview sound gone now watching glitterball go round on my screen! Now on with pro’s cha cha ! What’s the point missed interview rubbish!!!!!"

A third said: "What the hell just happened? That's never happened to #ItTakesTwo before, hope it doesn't happen again"

Alex had been discussing her fantastic routine in the tower ballroom at Blackpool.

When asked about the experience, she said: "It has sunk in because we’ve had to move on to our next dance but I absolutely loved everything about it.

"I remember last week saying if we get it right it will be epic and I feel we managed to achieve it."
