Strictly Come Dancing is back on BBC One this weekend and another couple will be saying goodbye to the ballroom. On Halloween week it was Adam Peaty and Katya Jones who found themselves in the bottom two. Sadly it was Judi Love and Graziano Di Prima who left, but a pro dancer says Adam and Katya could easily be next.

Halloween week was a nightmare for Olympian Adam Peaty who found himself in the dance-off with Judi Love.

He gave a mesmerizing performance during the couples’ eerie Vienesse Waltz to Moonlight Sonata.

They scored a total of 29, but they were picked up on a couple of mistakes and had to perform again in the dance-off.

Since the Halloween special, Ladbrokes said Adam is leading the betting to be eliminated this week with odds of 13/8.

Jessica O’Reilly of Ladbrokes said: “Unfortunately for Adam it looks like Strictly is a medal too far for him and he could dive out of the competition this weekend.”

Professional dancer and ballroom judge Gary Edwards spoke exclusively to Express.co.uk about Adam’s latest performance.

He agreed that based on entertainment value, Adam and Katya could be the next couple to leave.

He said: “If you were showing me them a month ago I would be thinking they have got to be one of the favourites.

“The way that his body type is and everything, it almost looks as if everything is over complicated.

“With the Samba, that is not how you do your hips. He was obviously wanting to move his hips but it happened the wrong way.

“[On Halloween week] they were the second-worst couple as far as the entertainment value of Halloween goes.

“I thought the idea was fantastic, I just don’t think that it came off completely.

“So for me, it’s more a case of do I think they are the favourites? They should be but they are not.”

Katya admitted it takes Adam a while for things to click, but once he masters them, the technicalities stick forever.

But Gary said: “It’s almost as if there’s something going on. I think it’s not clicking yet.

“And if it does click he could be right up the front but right now, I still don’t think it’s clicked for him.

“He hasn’t got his weight in the right place, for me personally that is so important especially when you have a young fit guy, you have got to get their centre in the right place.

“And I don’t think he is yet.” He did say he felt Adam and Katya had the potential to go further if he tried hard enough.

He added: “If you look entertainment-wise I can totally see why they would go.

“If it’s on potential then absolutely not, they shouldn’t go. If you are judging on entertainment, based on that performance, then yes they could be in danger.”

This weekend they will be dancing the Jive to Little Bitty Pretty One by Frankie Lymon & The Teenagers.

Adam has been keeping fans up to date with his progress on Instagram and he shared a profound message after the dance-off.

He said: “Truly humbled to be able to continue on this show and I will come back stronger.

“Unfortunately this week it meant I was going against @1judilove and @grazianodiprima who are incredible competitors and even more incredible people.

“Thank you to everyone who has supported me so far, thank you to @katyajones for being an amazing choreographer and person and pushing me bound my boundaries! I’m so grateful.”
