Strictly Come Dancing star Dan Walker left fans cringing after an awkward joke directed at host Rylan Clark-Neal fell flat during his appeared on It Takes Two on Friday night.
The pair were discussing Dan’s scores from last weekend’s episode which saw the star scoring in the 30s for the first time.
Dan said: "On Saturday night, we were 30 dancing." In reference to the movie Dirty Dancing.
Host Rylan replied: "It is lucky you can dance and present."
As Rylan was about to dismiss the pair from the sofa, he commented: "I wish you both the best of luck, give it up for-"
Dan cut in as the presenter was about to lead the couple off the set, adding: "By the way-"
"Oh, no more jokes!" Rylan ordered.
Dan then left the host feeling red-faced after discussing his ‘love for the triple paddle’ as he directed a comment to his doubters at the end of his interview
The star said: "Tell the Friday panel I don't mind if we get three paddles this week, we love the triple paddle.
"And we love coming in next week and proving everyone wrong, so come on!"
Rylan remarked: "It's going to be awkward, it's going to be awkward."
Despite the awkward blunder fans took to Twitter to wish him well and show their support.
One posted: "That’s the spirit Dan, rooting for you!" and another said: "You are what strictly is all about Dan and I can’t wait to see your dance".
The BBC dance show contestant had come under fire in recent weeks for keeping Dan in the competition at the expense of other celebrities.
Dan and Nadiya will dance a Rumba this weekend, renowned for its trickiness.
Answering Rylan's question about how rumba training had been going, Nadiya explained: "It's going really well.
"You know, earlier in the week on Monday, Daniel texted me and was like, 'this is going to be the busiest week of my life'."
"I'm very busy with work this week," the broadcaster detailed.
Nadiya continued: "He said 'but I will learn the rumba'
Dan and Nadiya will perform their routine to Desperado by Eagles.
Reaction to the upcoming performance has been mixed, with one fan writing: "Well they’ve set Dan up to fail then haven’t they …."
Another agreed writing: "Hmmm… I fear Dan has been set up to be eliminated this week"
While a third asked: "Set up by not being able to dance very well you mean?"
The likes of Tom Fletcher, Adam Peaty and Sara Davies have all left in recent weeks, despite consistently racking up higher spots on the leaderboard than Dan.
