Strictly: Tony apologises to Shirley Ballas for saying go home

Former Arsenal legend Tony Adams took the time to apologise to head judge Shirley Ballas after he performed the Quickstep to The Devil Went Down To Georgia. Shirley awarded the Strictly Come Dancing star an eight for his routine and a thrilled Tony said he was sorry for previous comments he made about the judge.
Last week, Tony was seen heckling at the head judge telling her to “go home” over her low scoring.
“Shirley! Go home!” he shouted as she lifted up her four paddle.
But on Saturday night, after the head judge gave him a standing ovation, Tony told Claudia Winkleman he needed to address the hurtful comment.
Claudia remarked of Tony’s score: “31, it’s your highest score. Go on.”
“I’ve got to say to Shirley as well, you know, I made a comment last week,” Tony began.
“I haven’t got a clue, I accept a four, I accept an eight. It don’t matter, I don’t really understand, I listen to her,” he continued pointing at Katya.
“But I’ve got to apologise for my comment. Don’t go home Shirley, you can stay. She is Strictly.”
As Claudia agreed, Tony turned to shout over the balcony to the head judge: “Sorry Shirley!”
Those tuning into Strictly were thrilled with Tony’s routine and took to Twitter to praise his improvement.
“I adore Tony Adams such improvement every week, Will was fantastic as was Kym #StrictlyComeDancing #strictly,” Mr and Mrs Guerin posted.
Sue added: “Bloody hell, Tony Adams was good tonight! #Strictly.”
“I feel so happy for Tony, you can tell how overwhelmed he is by it all and that he can’t quite believe it. Anton’s right – he started as the ‘joke’ act, but he’s proven he really can dance. #Strictly,” Becky shared.
Ahead of the Halloween special, bookmakers revealed Hamza Yassin is the clear favourite to win this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.
Having once been a massive outsider for the Glitterball Trophy, the bookies now have the CBeebies star priced at 8/11 to go all the way.
Elsewhere, as for this weekend, it’s bad news for Kym Marsh – who is now 2/1 to be sent packing, putting her ahead of James Bye and Ellie Taylor both 5/2 in the betting.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “All eyes are on Hamza Yassin as far as viewers and punters are concerned, with the odds now very much in his favour to go all the way.”
Molly Rainford will be hoping to avoid the dreaded dance-off for a second week in a row with professional partner Carlos Gu.
The pair are performing the Argentine Tango to Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God) by Kate Bush.
Will their Stranger Things inspired routine be enough to keep them in the competition for another week?
