Bill Turnbull’s family announced the death of the beloved broadcaster on Thursday with the former BBC Breakfast presenter tragically losing his battle with prostate cancer. His former colleagues and friends including Susanna Reid reflected on their friendship with Bill in a special tribute on Friday.
Susanna remarked: “He mentored everyone on the programme, he was the father of BBC Breakfast.
“He taught me everything, he taught so many of us about journalism and television and about being a decent person in this industry.
“He was kind and compassionate and wise and a great friend and I loved every minute of being with him and I’m really going to miss him.”
