The Apprentice's Alan Sugar leaves contestants red-faced with BRUTAL put-down in series 16 premiere

THE Apprentice is back and Lord Sugar’s put-downs are more savage than ever.

The mogul’s business contest returns for a 16th series on Thursday, with a new line-up of entrepreneurs vying for his £250,000 investment.

In the episode, the men and women are challenged to create a marketing campaign for a new cruise brand.

And the boys turn out a design that Lord Sugar couldn’t help but mock.

Their ‘Seaquility’ logo was meant to be a man in a yoga pose, blending into a wave.

But the green and brown colourway made it look like something far less tranquil.

Lord Alan says in the boardroom: “Last time I saw something like that I’d have called out Dyno Rod”.

His aide Karren Brady was even less impressed with the candidate’s efforts.

In an interview, she laughed: “I mean, honestly, you're thinking about someone who spends thousands and thousands of pounds to go on a cruise.

“Who is going to go on a cruise where the logo is shaped like either a rotten banana or a very unfortunate piece of dog poop.

“I think the first thing that people will learn from the first episode is, when designing for a billion-pound cruise ship, don't design a logo that's like a turd.

“I mean, honestly, I was sitting there watching them design it and they actually were really pleased with it.”
