Tom and Jimmy come face to face in Emmerdale as murder past haunts them

Tom King (James Chase) is back in the Emmerdale village after a decade away.

Tom is the son of Carl, which makes Jimmy (Nick Miles) his uncle.

Tom’s dad died back in 2012, when Cameron Murray murdered him.

At the time, Chas (Lucy Pargeter) believed that she was responsible for Carl’s death, which occurred after her affair with Cameron was revealed.

When Chas attempted to leave the village with Dan (Liam Fox), Carl attacked her in the back of a camper van and when she attempted to escape, she ended up hitting Carl over the head with a brick.

After Cameron saw Chas escape, he hit Carl with the brick, which ended up killing him.

Suffice to say there are a lot of bad memories in the village when it comes to the King family so upon his return, Tom has chosen to keep his head down, not wanting to give away to Jimmy and Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) that he’s back.

‘He’s not been in contact with Jimmy at all because Jimmy, and also Nicola to an extent, was there for him when he was going through his hard time all those years ago,’ newcomer James Chase told Metro.co.uk.

‘But through all the confusion and rage that he was feeling at that time, I think he combined Jimmy into that world and I think that’s why he never communicated with him even by FaceTime or text or anything like that.

‘He just didn’t want to bring up the past and unfortunately his uncle was now connected to that, so he hasn’t been in touch with him since.

However, in upcoming episodes, Tom struggles with his unresolved grief over his dad and when he bumps into Nicola and Jimmy at The Hide, things are awkward.

It’s clear that Jimmy can’t hide his hurt at the thought of Tom avoiding him, but can they reconnect?

Or will Tom end up causing trouble once more?

James added that it is Tom’s priority is to rekindle with the family, even if that will be difficult.
