Having shattered the global box office records for an animated film upon its debut, this fourth ‘Toy Story’ film joins ‘Aladdin’, ‘The Lion King’, ‘Captain Marvel’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame’.
AceShowbiz -“Toy Story 4” has helped Disney bosses hit a new box office milestone, becoming the studio’s fifth film to cross the $1 billion mark at the global box office this year.
The family film has joined the studio’s other 2019 releases “Aladdin“, “The Lion King (2019)“, “Captain Marvel“, and “Avengers: Endgame“, which have already passed the $1 billion mark.
The feat makes Disney the first studio to land five $1 billion projects within a single year.
“Toy Story 4” shattered international box office records for an animated film when it opened in June.
The movie, featuring the voices of Tom Hanks and Tim Allen, debuted with $238 million (£196 million) globally, beating the “Incredibles 2“‘s $235.8 million (£194.7 million) launch in 2018.
