Fans of The Walking Dead on AMC have been following the developing relationship between Negan (played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Alpha (Samantha Morton). In the comic books Negan ends up killing Alpha rather brutally. However fans who have seen the new series teaser believe he could be trying to help her out.

Followers of The Walking Dead have had to wait a few months during the mid-season break for the next episode, called Squeeze.
A number of sneak previews for the next half of the series have already been released and give hints as to who will make it out of the cave alive.
Another teaser has just been dropped which shows Negan and Alpha having a conversation in the woods.
They seem to be developing a strong connection and Negan starts giving Alpha clues about a potential spy in the group.
Fans are wondering whether this means the pair will join forces in the second half of the series.

The Walking Dead: Who is Josh Turner in The Walking Dead?
The two-minute clip focuses solely on Negan and Alpha, who met when he stumbled across The Whisperers.
In the clip Negan says: “…You keep your eyes peeled for a spy lurking in the woods. I have an alternate theory to run by you.
“The spy you are looking for? Right here in your camp. I have been where you are right now, and if you don’t want to end up where I am right now, I suggest you zig where I zag.”
Alpha then tells Negan he and she are “very different”, but she continues to listen intently.
Negan said: “I had people, I had a system, thought they believed in it, just like you.
“The thing is, you stay king or queen long enough, with people telling you all day every day that you don’t stink, you eventually start to believe it.
“But the thing is, it still stinks.” He seems to have won Alpha over and she asks who the spy is.
Negan tells her she should be looking “closer to home”. He says: “The little one, she is close enough to you that she knows exactly where that horde was.”

He adds: “But she guards the border so she’s close enough to the enemy that they could have gotten to her.”
He could be talking about Gamma (Thora Birch) who is third in command of The Whisperers.
Gamma has vowed to be loyal to Alpha in the series but she spends a lot of time at the border and has made contact with people at Hilltop.
In the new teaser Negan explains the spy is not Beta (Ryan Hurst), who is Alpha’s right hand man and second in command.

In the comic book series Negan ends up betraying Alpha after getting her on his side, thanks to his way with words.
He manages to lull her into a false sense of security, vowing to help her and follow her.
The comics reveal having wormed his way into the group he ends up fatally slashing her and she dies.
However, some fans believe the pair could continue working together, and even become a couple.
Comicbook.com says the next episode has the content descriptor ‘SVL’ which means it contains sexual scenes as well as violence.
The Walking Dead returns to AMC on February 23
