Who dies in the EastEnders 35th anniversary boat tragedy? All the potential victims

EASTENDERS has confirmed a week of dramatic episodes to mark its 35th anniversary as one Walford favourite meets their grisly end.

One unlucky character will drown after going overboard while cruising the River Thames in a party boat but who will it be? Here are the latest fan theories and rumours…

Who dies in the EastEnders 35th anniversary boat tragedy?

One major character is set to seal their tragic fate by toppling over board in a special upcoming anniversary episode.

Disaster will strike after the Queen Vic landlords Mick and Linda Carter win Pub of the Year contest and decide to go all out with their celebrations.

The pair decide to host a bash on a party boat along the river Thames, inviting half of the Square’s residents to join the celebrations.

A source on the BBC soap told The Sun: “Where better place for a major death than on the Thames itself, which is so central to the show?

“Trouble has been brewing in Walford for a while, and they decided it was the perfect occasion to see off a big name.

“It’s thought that as part of the dramatic scenes Sharon will give birth on the boat, but she is just one of many who could see themselves go overboard to an icy, watery death.”

But who will be swallowed up by the river's swirls?

Linda Carter

Filming pictures show Linda knocking back the booze as she uses the boat party as an excuse to pop open the champagne.

The hostess with the mostest has been pictured dancing on top of the tables while guzzling down the booze and living her best life.

Linda did manage to pass out in the Square in the freezing cold after one too many and end up in hospital over Christmas Day, so who knows what’ll happen to her on a party boat.

One viewer tweeted: "I think it needs to be someone of more significance and I think it will definitely involve Linda’s alcoholism either just accidentally pushes someone in or somebody else dies trying to save her after she falls in."

Mick Carter

Official spoiler pics have revealed that Mick seemingly ends up in the water as the boat party gets underway.

Filming pictures show the moment Mick’s sister Tina Carter yells out for her brother and jumps onto a lifeboat with Jack and Max Branning in an effort to get him.

Linda has already lashed out at Mick once when she scratched and bruised him after a night out, but will she push her husband overboard?

Enders viewers will know that Mick is petrified of water and can't really swim…

Fans on Twitter are convinced Linda could be behind Mick’s death.

One tweeted: "Major character being killed off on the boat party… Mick or Linda would be a good choice because imagine the dynamics of Mick/Linda being a widow and learning to cope without the other."

Another added: “I think Linda fall off the boat and Mick dies to save her. It may be. I'm going to cry no matter what."

A third tweeted: "My thoughts on the boat thing… #Ballum will be fine and IF they are on the boat, it will create drama and hopefully not too much angst. I do however think that it will be Mick that dies and I really don't want it to be."

Leo King

Everyone loves it when a villain meets their end.

The creepy stalker has been harassing Whitney for months and hasn’t disappeared even after his identity as paedophile Tony King’s son was revealed.

Might someone shove him into the icy Thames?

Sharon Mitchell

Heavily pregnant Sharon Mitchell is set to give birth around the 35th anniversary and her character will be at the centre of the drama.

If her waters break on the boat, might she head into the river herself?

Ian Beale

EastEnders legend Ian Beale hops on the boat for a good time.

Would the BBC One soap kill off the annoying politician?

Phil Mitchell

Phil has survived just about everything under the sun on the BBC One soap.

The Walford hardman has even driven his car into the river before.

But will the immortal man finally meet his death?

One fan tweeted: “So Sharon is out for revenge… secrets are revealed… and someone dies on the boat? Sharon killing Phil?”

Another said: “Phil Mitchell is eternal… man ain’t gonna die”

Louise Mitchell

Louise is set to leave the soap in the next few weeks.

The soap has led viewers to believe that the long-suffering teen will get a happy ending as she escapes abroad to Portugal with her mum, but will she actually go plunging to her death?

Callum Highway

Ben's last boyfriend died after getting beaten up for being gay – is Callum set for a tragic fate too?

Fans have taken to Twitter to warn EastEnders not to send Callum to his death and destroy the fan-favourite relationship between him and Ben.

One fan tweeted: "Think the #Ballum fandom is strong enough to dismantle all boats in the UK to even prevent the possibility?"

Another angrily added: "Hope #ballum ain’t on that party boat."

Someone else

Spoiler pictures have shown a number of the cast filming aboard the riverboat.

Others on the boat included Kat Slater, Kush Kazemi, Whitney Dean, Tina Carter, Denise Fox, Max Branning, Sheree Trueman, Bex Fowler and Tracey the barmaid.

One fan tweeted: “I have a feeling that our beloved Tracey will be the one to perish on the boat and it will be drunken Linda’s fault!”
